Development of fetal brain of 20 weeks gestational age: assessment with post-mortem Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
BACKGROUND The 20th week gestational age (GA) is at mid-gestation and corresponds to the age at which the termination of pregnancy in several countries and the first Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be performed, and at which the premature babies may survive. However, at present, very little is known about the exact anatomical character at this GA. OBJECTIVE To delineate the developing fe...
متن کاملAssessment of Organ Specific Iron Overload in Transfusion-dependent Thalassemia by Magnetic Resonance Imaging Techniques
The consequence of repeated blood transfusions in thalassemia is iron overload in different organs. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a reliable, non-invasive and accurate method for iron detection in various tissues, hence the introduction of MRI has revolutionized the management of these patients and improved the life expectancy of them. Cardiac MRI T2* has a profound effect not only on est...
متن کاملUltra-high-field magnetic resonance imaging
Understanding human brain function, brain development and brain dysfunction is one of the great challenges of the twentyfirst century. Biomedical imaging has now run up against a number of technical constraints that are exposing limits to its potential. In order to overcome the current limits to high-field magnetic resonance cerebral imaging (MRI) and unleash its fullest potential, the CEA has ...
متن کاملRF Field Analysis for High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems
The combined field integral equation method is used to calculate the RF B1 field produced by a transmission line resonator element for high field magnetic resonance systems. The proposed method provides faster electromagnetic field results than the finite difference time domain approach. A field localization method is also discussed.
